Access

Residence Access

Proximity ONEcards are used to access Lister Centre towers, Schäffer Hall and International House.  Other campus residences use ONEcard swipe access for certain doors and services.

Department Access

ONEcards (proximity or swipe) may be programmed to give access to doors on campus including offices or labs. The access is typically provided by the individual's department, and lost/stolen or replaced ONEcards should be reported to the department as soon as possible.

Campus Services

Van Vliet Centre

ONEcard is used to access athletics and recreation on campus including the locker rooms, pools, fitness centre and campus recreation. 

Student access is determined by non-instructional fees, which are assessed to all students who have on-campus registration for the current term.

Staff access depends on the contract of the individual.

If you do not have automatic gym access, it may be purchased through the Equipment Room in the Van Vliet Centre.

Health Services

There is a full-service medical clinic on the second floor of SUB. For more information visit their site at www.uhc.ualberta.ca

Access to Health Services on campus is restricted to:

  • full-time and part-time students who have on-campus registration for the current term*

  • immediate family members (spouse, significant partner and children) of eligible students

  • English Language Program students studying at the Faculty of Extension

  • Postdoctoral Fellows

  • Academic and non-academic staff

*If students have paid their winter term health services fees, their Health Centre access will be extended until September even if they are not registered in the Spring/Summer term.

Health & Dental Plan (Health Insurance)

ONEcard and the ONEcard office are not the suppliers of student health insurance.  Coverage is provided by www.ihaveaplan.ca
